    Brian D. Trulock’s practice concentrates in the areas medical malpractice, construction, and general liability. His career began as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. As a Judge Advocate, he gained significant trial experience serving as lead prosecutor in several felony and misdemeanor jury trials.

    Since leaving active duty in 2007, Brian has represented hospitals, individual medical providers, and corporations in complex litigation. In each case, Brian develops a litigation plan with the client and ensures that the client is apprised of important developments in the litigation process. Brian believes that regular communication and collaboration with the client is the best way to achieve an efficient resolution of the case which is consistent with the client’s desired results.

    Brian graduated from Emory University in 2000 with a B.A. in Political Science. Immediately following graduation, he attended the United States Marine Corps’ Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia, and was subsequently commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.

    Brian earned his Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis in 2003. Following law school, Brian became a member of the Missouri Bar. He attended the United States Marine Corps’ Basic Officer Course and Naval Justice School, and was designated a Judge Advocate in 2004. He spent three years at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California.

    Brian resides in Decatur with his wife, who is also an attorney, and son. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and training for marathons.

    PRACTICE GROUPS

    Professional Negligence / Medical Malpractice
    Brian has represented individual medical providers and hospitals in a variety of medical malpractice matters at all stages of the litigation process. He has been involved in cases alleging misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, improper surgical technique, improper cancer treatment, improper use of certain medical devices, and negligent post-surgical care, among others.

    General Liability
    Brian has represented corporations and retailers in a variety of general liability claims, including cases alleging hazardous or defective grounds, negligent hiring and supervision, inadequate security, and intentional interference with business relationships.

    Construction Litigation
    As a member of the Construction practice group, Brian has represented numerous general contractors, subcontractors, builders and land developers in the resolution of varying issues, including construction/design defect claims and storm water and erosion run-off.
