Stephen T. Snow
Stephen T. Snow is a partner who focuses his practice on defending builders and developers from construction defect claims, federal Clean Water Act claims and other storm water related state law claims. Stephen has successfully argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and has also presented cases through several arbitration forums, including AAA and CAA.
Stephen graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Public Relations and a double-minor in Business and Korean. He earned his law degree from Temple University where, as a member of Temple’s National Trial Team, he was a champion of the 2004 Buffalo Invitational National Trial Competition, a runner-up at the 2005 ATLA Regional Trial Competition, and a recipient of a Best Advocate Award at the 2003 Cathy Bennett National Criminal Trial Competition. Stephen was also a recipient of Temple’s Class of 2005 Most Promising Litigator Award and its Class of 2005 Excellence in Trial Advocacy Award.
Stephen is also active outside of the legal profession. He was a catcher for the Brigham Young University baseball team from 1996 to 2001 and was named 2000-2001 Mountain West Conference Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year. In addition, Stephen served a 2-year mission in Taejon, Korea, and is fluent in Korean.
PRACTICE GROUPS
Construction Litigation
Stephen specializes in defending general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and builders from both commercial and residential construction defect claims. These claims have involved high rise office buildings, commercial retail spaces, mixed-use facilities, parking decks, large-scale residential developments, custom homes, and “spec” homes. Representative cases include claims for structural defects, water intrusion, stucco, storm water discharges, settling, aesthetic concerns, and various other construction defect disputes. He has also helped his clients draft and revise construction documents including contracts, subcontracts, and lien waivers.Insurance Coverage
Stephen has extensive experience analyzing coverages under commercial general liability policies and frequently provides insurance carriers with coverage opinions relating to suits asserting construction defects claims against their insureds. Stephen is also experienced in drafting reservation of rights letters and in litigating Declaratory Judgment actions.General Liability
In addition to his other practice groups, Stephen is experienced in handling various general litigation matters. His work has involved defending local governments and their employees from 1983 claims, as well as representing individuals and businesses from slip and fall, food poisoning, fire, general negligence, and other litigation matters.Environmental Mass Tort & Land Use
Stephen further specializes in defending builders and developers from federal and state storm water claims. He is experienced in litigating issues arising out of regulatory compliance under the federal Clean Water Act as well as The Georgia Erosion and Sedimentation Act. He has litigated numerous civil actions in federal and state court arising out of storm water discharges and has represented builders and developers in defending Clean Water Act, negligence, nuisance, trespass, and other storm water related claims.EDUCATION
