Taylor Owens


An associate at Bendin, Sumrall & Ladner, Taylor focuses his practice in the areas of general liability, construction litigation and professional negligence/medical malpractice. Taylor received his Juris Doctorate from University of Georgia School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, Taylor served as the executive editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and as a research assistant for Professor Thomas Eaton where he researched various issues related to Section 1983 litigation. Also while in law school, Taylor spent time as a  volunteer at the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney’s Office.  More recently, Taylor has assisted individuals in a variety of landlord-tenant disputes as a volunteer for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation.

Prior to law school, Taylor earned his undergraduate degree in Banking and Finance at the University of Georgia, where he graduated magna cum laude. While earning his undergraduate degree, Taylor worked as an environmental services technician on various projects involving ground water contamination and remediation. In his free time, Taylor enjoys playing music, sports and the outdoors.

Practice Groups

General Liability
Taylor regularly represents clients in matters involving contract disputes.  He also represents commercial property owners in premises liability cases.

Professional Negligence / Medical Malpractice
Taylor works with the professional negligence practice group to defend hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers in pre-litigation medical malpractice matters and in all stages of litigation.

Taylor represents general contractors, subcontractors, builders and land developers in the resolution of various issues involved in residential and commercial construction defect claims.
