David Schulte

Associate

As an associate at Bendin, Sumrall & Ladner, David H. Schulte devotes his practice to general liability, construction litigation, and workers’ compensation. David graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 2004 with a degree in Finance. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Georgia State University School of Law in 2009. David worked in the workers’ compensation group at a prominent Atlanta civil defense firm prior to joining Bendin, Sumrall & Ladner.

David resides in Brookhaven. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and dogs.  He is a sports and music enthusiast, and an avid horse racing supporter.

 

Practice Groups

General Liability

David is active in the defense of a variety of business clients sued under commercial general liability policies.  His clients include trucking companies, builders, banks, hospitals, residential communities, and retail stores.  David’s cases include defense of catastrophic/fatal motor vehicle accident claims, premises liability injuries, and negligence claims of all kinds.  He also counsels his clients regarding potential liability issues arising out of the unique circumstances and legal/regulatory frameworks applicable to the client’s specific industry.

Construction Litigation

As a member of the Construction practice group, David has experience litigating commercial and residential construction defect claims, breach of contract claims, construction accidents, water intrusion, structural land-engineering, and grading issues.  David represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and developers, in litigation matters relating to a wide variety of residential and commercial buildings and properties.

Workers’ Compensation

David has worked for over 10 years defending employers, insurers and third-party administrators in the defense of workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia.  He has defended numerous employers in a wide variety of fields, including but not limited to hospitals and medical offices, the construction industry, grocery stores, the food industry, restaurants and bars, the transportation industry, as well as many others.  David has conducted countless depositions, mediated numerous cases to successful resolution, and has argued a variety of cases before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation, and argued a number of times before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation Appellate Division and Georgia Superior Courts.
